Severus raised his face to the sun. He was sitting in a glade in the woods, having a picnic with his lover. After they’d eaten, Harry had fallen asleep beside him on the blanket. All he could hear was the rustling of the wind through the branches above them and Harry’s soft breathing.
He was astonished to be alive and free, without the threat of imprisonment. Now he’d be able to spend more days like this with Harry, without the worry of having to live a double life, no more commitments, no more Voldemort!
Severus sighed happily in utter contentment.
