I saw this girl's tee at Target. It wouldn't be so bad if the hoop on the actual item wasn't barely visible. Cue double take and my mom not understanding why my brother and I were mildly horrified, though I do like that there are basketball shirts for girls because they didn't really have those when I was a kid.. On the bright side, it isn't Ambercrombie & Fitch.

It could be bunnies

I'm watching "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" and I've noticed some disturbing parallels... Little concern for human life, egotism, dark sense of humor, eccentricity, fondness for ridiculous ties and purple coats...

I'm just sayin'.

In my mind, this would make total sense in DC canon.

Batman 697 )

ETA: I only just remembered this. I had a crazy dream last night. It involved tarantulas and a gila monster turning into people. Dad and I were trying to kill them before they turned human. Gila-monster-turned-human boasted about being too poisonous for the spray we were using to kill them and was a jerk. One of the tarantula-turned-humans hit on me. He was sort of cute. Sadly, this is normal fare for my dreams.

It must have been the BBQ ribs from Memorial Day.

Bought Wonder Woman: The Animated Movie today and it is 76 minutes of Amazons being bad ass. Can't decide if I like it better than New Frontier or not, but its above Green Lantern: First Flight IMO.

They made an American version of Death at a Funeral. I really enjoyed the dry humor of the original and I was initially ambiguous at first about the remake, but the trailer makes it seem like it'll be a pretty good movie. They have the original actor for the dwarf and the cast looks good ( Zoe Saldana, Luke Wilson and Chris Rock).

I saw Clash of the Titans yesterday an it was pretty much what I expected: straight forward action movie with CGI and little to no plot so no thinking involved. It isn't something I would go to, but it was my brother's b-day. For me, it dragged. So, I'd say wait until it comes out on DVD if you want to see it. Spoiler )

I finally got the oppurtunity to catch up on comics this week. My brother buys some titles so we switch every once in a while and he reads the ones I buy. So I caught up on Batman, Batman & Robin, Red Robin and Deadpool, in edition to reading Batman: Under the Hood, which the new DC Batman DVD movie is based on. They had an advertisement for New Mutants #9 in one of the Deadpool issues and I can't figure out what's going on with this woman's torso. Its like her hips are dislocated or she has no stomach. Foreshortening fail.

New Mutants #9 )

Started reading Stardust, but it doesn't seem like I'll have time to finish it until May. I have the student B.F.A. show to worry about so this month will be HELL Mont for me starting tomorrow.

ETA: WOAH. Easter earthquake. 6.9 and I didn't even get out of my computer chair. It felt a bit like being in a Jello-O mold.

WTF DC? WHERE IS YOUR EDITOR?!

I am not happy with this week's "Batgirl." The guest artist is Talent Caldwell (you know you are in trouble when someone's penname is "Talent") and art is hideous. HIDEOUS.

ETA: OMG MY BROTHER WILL BE TAKING THE MCAT THIS SUMMER. He's only a junior in college and entered straight out of high school. WHEN DID HE GROW UP SO FAST?!
