Where the Rum Went

How I started out my Monday morning in my lecture hall class:

Professor: *making a point about rum in relation to Pirates of the Caribbean, pulls a bottle of rum out of his bag* Can one of you two young ladies verify that this is Demon Rum?
Me: Um...Ok. *goes up stage and unscrews the bottle*
Prof: *thinking I'm going to take a sniff*
Me: *interpreted "verify" as SWIG and inhales a good eighth-sixth of the bottle* :D
Class and Prof: O_O
Me: It's rum. 8D
Class: *bursts out laughing*
Shannon (friend sitting next to me): OMG you should have seen his face!
Me: I wasn't supposed to?
Prof: *lectures on the history of hemp and rum, later takes a swig, and admits that I upstaged him*

BREE, YOU WIN. PETER IS NOW OFFICIALLY SHIRTLESS PATRELLI.

Also some examples of the POTC: Curse of the Black Pearl Drinking Game Rules:

If someone falls into the water, for any reason, (or jumps)- take a drink.
Jack gets slapped- ladies take a drink.
There's a sword fight- Men take a drink.
A reference to Jack's non-working compass is made- SHOT!
A reference to the ride is on screen- Shot!
Singing "Yo Ho"- Drink
Pirate Flag- Drink
Why is the rum always gone?- Take a big drink and say "THAT'S WHY"
Take everything- Big drink and say "and give nothing back
Everytime someone drinks on screen- drink
Every time someone says "parley"- Shot (even if Elizabeth says it five times in one sentence, which she did)
Ragetti looses his eye- Drink

Also, the unnamed rum punch I invented:
Every type of rum immediately available (dark rum, shot rum, spiced rum, coconut rum)
7-up
pineapple juice

I think I'd like to try it with cranberry juice or orange juice added. Should it be named "Jar of Dirt Grog" (in the spirit of throwing shit together)? With orange juice, it should be called "Monkey Jack Rum Punch" and with cranberry "Tia Dalma Voodoo" ( calling it a "Barbossa" makes it sound like a martini).

My Mary-Sue/Pirate Backstory

My friend is having an all geek party tonight. It's a late Halloween Pirate theme party. So instead of working today, I've worked on a backstory for my character and scavenged my room for props.

Lady Prudence Mary de Braose, Captian of the Bloody Rag and Her Two Unfortunate Husbands

I introduce you to Lady Prudence Mary de Braose, Captian of the Bloody Rag. Capt. Prue is the daughter of a small Anglo-French noble family from Sussex, though originally from Normandy. Her mother was the daughter of a well-to-do merchant which brought more wealth to the de Braose name, but the fortune declined over time. The third born in her family, Prue was bought off to marry a plantation owner from Virginia(she doesn't remember if it was tobacco or cotton nor does she care). She had barely been in the marriage bed when her husband arranged for her to leave England for the colonies. Her husband left a week before she sailed from England to make sure preparations were in order. On the voyage, the ship was boarded by the crew of a pirate schooner, the Bloody Rag. The crew of the merchant vessel and her escort were slaughtered and the only thing of value on board other than some bone china and gunpowder, was her. The captain, a Capt. Kent, was initially going to hold her ransom or let the crew have their share but she somehow convinced him of her natural aptitude for piracy and married the bildge rat. In an unfortunate encounter with the Royal Navy, some unseen assailant had Capt. Kent over the head with a belaying pin, and Mrs. Kent became Capt. Prudence Kent. She proved a good captain and resumed using her maiden-name not long after. She successfully added two snoops, The Medea and the Nereid to form a small fleet.

Her mannerisms and speech is very gentile, but Capt. Prue is a very hands on captain and will calmly shoot a man in a middle of a conversation, then resume right where she left off before being uninterrupted. She dresses neat and expects a level of cleanliness from her crew. She does have her vices: murder, the drink, and adultery (she's technically still married to Lord Bridgewater). She is haughty, strict, calculating, and always dresses a manner becoming her station as a member of the gentry. However, her hair is cut short and wild and her eyes make most think she's mad. She only dresses as a man when she's going to do messy work.

Her colors are white with a blood-like stain across it, with a skull in the center.

There is a rumor in Tortuga that she's also Capt. Jack Sparrow's third ex-wife (the other one, mind you).
