So does anyone want to read my daily discharges of NaNo?

Generally, I'm writing for speed and get things down as I think of them, so they're
(a) basically raw, unedited thought process and
(b) out of order, because apparently writing in a linear fashion makes my brain lock up.

Let me know!

Also, the bird update: Mom says the bird trying to eat her fish had a big, long beak, but no long neck or long legs (which you'd expect from a heron). So in other words, aquatic bird life according to my mom:

What color was the bird? I'm pretty good at IDing them.

Also, want to be my Nano buddy? http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/user/448804

The bird might be a night heron.

D\'awww, what a cutie :)

Those legs don\'t look short to me, but maybe if you were expecting a great blue heron?

Yes! I have been looking for a NaNo buddy!

And now I suppose I must figure out the site.

My mom didn\'t get a good look at the bird, which is probably why all she noticed was the beak. But, uh, a bird with a big long beak (it was not a pelican) and stubby neck/legs would not really be able to stand above a pond menacingly watching the goldfish. And it\'s not like we have crazy lots of fish-eating birds in Ellicott City, MD.

She didn\'t tell me what it was, though I considered asking. Given the level of detail of what she was saying, though, I think she\'d only be able to tell me if it was light or dark-colored.

Hmm, could be. I was under the impression that it was a fairly large bird, though, and I thought kingfishers were on the small-to-medium side.

We'll see if it turns up again!
