I heard a snippet of an interview with Eric Shinseki on NPR today, and. I never expected to say this, but he was actually remarkably cogent and ANSWERED THE QUESTIONS HE WAS ASKED. And then he explained mental function in PTSD veterans as a lot like engineering resilience. Which corresponds to what soldiers lose as a result of wartime trauma.

In other news, I decided to work on the Flash movie, which, uh. IS SUBSUMING NANO (dammit!). It is slow going, because it is way easier to blabber on for a couple hundred words or so than it is to draw each frame by damn frame.

K I just got the ninja booster pack for City of Heroes.

....Ninja Run looks REALLLLLLY stupid. And the jump is just... urgh. But on the other hand, now all my characters will be faster, even at low levels!

...and look stupid.

I actually like Haruhiko better than Akihiko, who is just a space alien sex machine. But then again, Misaki's seiyuu seeeeriously gets on my nerves, so maybe it's a good thing that he's alone, all alone.

I also like Junjou Egoist better than Romantica, because Nowaki is hawwwwwt and also they have better wangst than Akihiko/Misaki. Also, Hiroki isn't screaming, "NOOOOOOO" all the time.

And apparently Nowaki's voice actor is also the voice of Midou Ban from Get Backers, I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN that voice is just TOO SMEXY. And also... Tasuki? Okay, that's a little uncomfortable.

But not as awkward as Miki Shinichiro, who is Sephiroth and Roy Mustang #2, but also..

After playing Little Big Planet, I think I want a PS3. I mean, I was kind of leaning that way anyway because I hated the XBox (the controller actually hurt my hands). Also, I don't like Halo or other MANLY MEN WAR SHOOTING GRITTY GAMES, as they seem to go out of their way to make the characters as unattractive as possible.

Plus, the PS2 was awesome and had things like Kuon and Dororo.

What? All the new PS3s won't play PS2 games?

Anyway, today I got a book about Alphonse Mucha and it's kind of like an extraction of what I liked about CLAMP (flowy things and details and intricate little design things in the background) without a bunch things I didn't like (girlygirly shoujo sparkles, HUEG eyes, ridiculously skinny characters).

Oh, cardinal tetras would be nice, too, but neons are adorable. Look at their beady little eyes and their cute little racing stripes.

I've been trying to figure out my platys' personalities. So far, whenever I turn on the light, everyone will swim up to the top and look around except for Tango, who I gather is a bit of a late riser (she's also the smallest).

Penny is kind of a picky eater, and will daintily inhale smaller flakes, then swim all the way across the aquarium to pick up the next instead of going after all the other identical flakes floating on the top. She is also the cutest, because she looks is all red body and beady eyes.

Lemon, the fattest one, will nom on a big flake until it succumbs to her fishy perseverance.

Also, the bird update: Mom says the bird trying to eat her fish had a big, long beak, but no long neck or long legs (which you'd expect from a heron). So in other words, aquatic bird life according to my mom:

Apparently, platys are INCAPABLE of sitting still long enough for you to actually take a picture (which does not feature a zooming, blurry platy), so here is a short movie.

They are tiny, tiny little beady-eyed things with delicate, translucent little fins. Their pectorals, in particular, beat like crazy. And they're fast! And they like eating!

I will be putting in some more water soon, and then turn on the filter (I wanna make sure the water isn't chlorinated! Fish!)

Fish are so great. ZOMG.

ETA: Moar fishies. I have decided their names are:
Penny: shiny-eyed red platy
Frankie: red platy with white patch. The only male platy. THAT I KNOW OF.
Checkers: orange platy with Mickey Mouse symbol on tail
Tango: orange platy with brownish markings on tail
Georgia: the smaller yellow/white platy
Lemon: fat yellow/white platy

I got a new fishie tank :D

Soon I will put fishies in it (they are tiiiiny, less than an inch long) and I will have my first pets ever.

There are six of them and I will give them names.

I'm sure anyone who knows me could have figured this out already, but I was the kind of kid who only read National Geographics for the awesome pictures of cool animals. I'd skip all the parts about indigenous peoples and cities and Mardi Gras. Although occasionally I'd read other nature-related things, like volcanoes and trees. Pictures of space still don't do it for me.

I watched South Park's Whale Whores recently, which prompted me to finally listen to Lady Gaga's Poker Face. My observations:

* Lady Gaga doesn't look anywhere near as freaky as I thought she would from all the hype. I mean, I don't think that's even mildly visual kei-level, there. But she is awfully cute in that video.

* I can completely understand why she's popular with the gay community.

* If you Google Lady Gaga, one of the related searches is "Is Lady Gaga a Hermaphrodite?" Wtf? I understand she's a gay icon and is bisexual and doesn't look traditionally feminine and rocks the over-the-top drag queen look, but... she's very clearly female. Like, boobies and everything.
