K I just got the ninja booster pack for City of Heroes.

....Ninja Run looks REALLLLLLY stupid. And the jump is just... urgh. But on the other hand, now all my characters will be faster, even at low levels!

...and look stupid.

[Team] Rumble Junkie: your going to want to wait until mobs condense on me
[Team] Rumble Junkie: that way you ensure u dont get hit
[Team] Yoshua: dunno if you noticed, but they aren't really hitting me
[Team] Rumble Junkie: i dont know if u noticed, but im not asking. im tellin u

At this point, I let loose a loud "BAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA", and quit the team. God save us from pretty pretty prima donna tanks. I'm gonna put my humility and everything else aside here, and say this:

Massive rant to follow )

Why is it

I can never find STAMPS when I need them? Maybe I need to start pasting them to my forehead or something. Seriously, I can never keep them in my bag because they're so flimsy, and they get lost on my desk. So I put them on the counter or something and they DISAPPEAR.

Also, DUDE.

[Broadcast] Electric Mexican: lvl 29ish team lft
[Broadcast] Electric Mexican: you know you want to
[Broadcast] Electric Mexican: who are you to resist?

[Tell] -->Electric Mexican: do you have any sk room?*
[Tell] Electric Mexican: sure
[Tell] -->Electric Mexican: 20 kin here
[Broadcast] Electric Mexican: hmm... think you gotta be 5 lvls within... the lowest we got in the team is 28
[Tell] Electric Mexican: well didn't mean for that to go out

[Tell] -->Electric Mexican: ...erm. You know what, never mind.
[Tell] Electric Mexican: and now I feel like a jackass
[Tell] Electric Mexican: sorry

* For you non CoH-ers, higher level superheroes have the ability to take lower toons as their "sidekicks", raising them to a fighting level roughly equal to one level below the mentor. People sidekick other people regularly as part of the game.

That's right, he apparently thinks his team is too high level to sidekick me. Let's not get into the fact that he's conflating this with a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT RULE that governs who gets XP, not who can sidekick who. Just ask yourself this: if you could only sidekick people within five levels of yourself, WHAT WOULD BE THE POINT OF HAVING SIDEKICKING AT ALL?

The world will NEVER KNOW.

Game: Champions Online

So, Champions.

Today I was informed that Champions Online is in open beta, and so naturally I had to go see if it was any better than City of Heroes. I would like to note that while I was working on this, I switched to Rich text mode and my HTML got allllll fucked up and I spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to get rid of all the <span style=""> and other crap, so my ranting may be EVEN MORE INCOHERENT than usual.

Where to start... )

I made CO sound a lot worse than it is. I mean, it’s tolerable. It’s kind of ugly-looking, but it’s basically your typical MMO. You could do worse. And one or two of the cutscenes were sort of interesting. I liked firing the Sister Ray. You even get your travel powers relatively early and don’t have to run around a lot, like in WoW.

I think part of the reason I was so disappointed was because I liked COH so much and I thought this would be similar and somehow more action oriented. If anything, though it’s more MMO than COH was. You could get the same experience fighting in Canada as you could slogging through Payon dungeon in RO, where zombies, goddamn bats, and the like are constantly spawning and trying to bite you to death.

I don’t think it’s worth $50, though. I mean, you could buy two Phoenix Wright games for that money, and they don’t charge you a subscription fee. Also, I’m sorry for abusing the word "dongle". I thought it just meant "dangly useless thing". I'm sorry, dongle.

Bees.

P.S. As part of my regularly scheduled COH activities, I like to play a game called "make your male toons as creatively skanky-looking as possible". So here are some screenshots of the various ways I have come up with to circumvent the lack of preset skanky male costume options.

OH YEAH, BABY

My Suikoden V game is TOTALLY HERE. And also in the mail is the Dororo PS2 game, which has for some reason been renamed to Blood Will Tell in NA.

YEAHHHH. HAWT BISHOUNEN, HERE I COME.

Also I made my first Architect Arc in City of Heroes. You can search for it under the author Kuroda, if you care.
