Paul Smith and the Park here I come [Aug. 21st, 2007|01:32 am]
[mood | excited]

I'll be away for about one week. I'll go to London first, and shall spend a few hours at the British Library and then....

READING FESTIVAL yes, yes, yes, yes!!!

MAXIMO PARK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, in the meantime, my bag is not ready and I still don't know if I should take my wellies or not....I don't want to carry too much things, and last year I took them and it wasn't really necessary. But the weather is so crazy I don't know what to do.

Rec: Owned (Post DH, Harry/Draco, rating: adult) [Aug. 15th, 2007|08:37 pm]
[mood | happy]

If you're not already following it, try to have a look at owned by </a></a>[info]jordangrant. It's a post DH Harry/Draco and this is exactly what you need if you want to forget the LJ crisis.

Yes, this is going to be (probably) a very long WIP, but it's really worth it. And she updates almost every other day.

Yes, it deals with bonding and slavery, but don't let that deter you, it's so much more than that: romantic, erotic, and strangely touching.

Yes, the premise seems unbelievable, but it works. It even feels, well, right.

Really, the only danger here is to become addicted. Go and read!

LJ exodus/rant [Aug. 9th, 2007|12:45 pm]
[mood | aggravated]
[music |David Bowie: Aladdin Sane]

Thanks to </a></b></a>[info]oulangi I now have a journalfen account. I'm tiger_iris on JF as well as on GJ, IJ and IJ. You can find me here:

http://tiger-iris.livejournal.com/
http://tiger-iris.insanejournal.com/
http://tiger-iris.greatestjournal.com/

Anyhow, this is going to be a real mess. Since I don't know anything about html and technology as a whole, I'm not sure I'll be able to master semagic and succeed in posting in all journals. Furthermore, I don't know WHO has the TIME to check 4 journals, because some people are going to post in one, but not in the others.

And I should add I also deeply resent being sort of compel to flee LJ, simply because of what I like to read and see. It's not only a question of freedom of speech: I'm not a big fan of chan, but I can enjoy a good snarry as anyone else. I'm part of  </a></b></a>[info]yaoi_daily and you could easily say that half of what is posted there is child pornography, if you think a cute anime with ears and tail is a child.

I really hate that, because of course I dislike being associated with child pornographers, but also because it feels like we're under suspicion just because we enjoy different sorts of art and writing. And I don't even want to approach the question of artistic freedom here, or I'm going to have a fit: it's like Nabokov's case all over again, and nothing has changed. Or maybe it has: it's easier to target artists and writers who are not -yet- famous, or who enjoy their anonymity or who just want to play. They're weird anyhow, and nobody outside fandom is going to stand up for them. And of course, we're talking here, mostly I think, about women: women who write/draw porn, women who have fantasies, women who do not conform to stereotypes, women who could lose a lot of things if what they're doing here was publicized . Maybe it's not totally irrelevant to mention.
