DEAR ABBY: I'm a contented, widowed, retired elementary school teacher. I live in the same condo complex as my fraternal twin sister and her seventh husband. She has always been a cougar -- never satisfied with what she has. She's attractive and looks 15 years younger than her age.
For almost a year she has been pen pals with a handsome man 30 years her junior. They exchange naughty nude photos and have phone sex. She likes the fantasy, but he wants it to become reality by flying across country for a long, steamy weekend. It's inevitable that this will happen. I worry for her safety. She says she can handle it. What should I do, if anything? -- NEVER CEASES TO AMAZE ME
DEAR AMAZED: I can understand your concern, however, your sister is well past the age of 21. From your description of her history she has been around this block many times. She knows the territory. If I were you, I'd worry less about her safety and more about his.
LW#2: "...I'd worry less about her safety and more about his." Okay, this made me laugh. Now all I can picture in my head is this virile, strapping young man with flowing locks and flexing muscles (think romance novel cover) walking up to her door and knocking. It opens, reveling a dim, candlelit interior. A slender, feminine arm reaches out, grabs Mr. Youngstud, and pulls him into the condo. Two weeks later, a dried up and shriveled man is rolled out in a wheelchair, his muscles gone and his (formerly) flowing locks now heavily streaked with white. The letter writer's sister follows him out, now looking ten years younger than she did two weeks ago. She kisses him on the cheek and says something. The used up former stud flinches and looks briefly panicked. She laughs, points to the car now pulling up, and then wheels him over to it. She helps him into the car, waves good bye, and watches as it drives away.
Just after the car turns the corner, another pulls up and out steps another virile, strapping young man with flowing locks and rippling muscles. She smiles. The Cougar has a new meal.
Unfortunately, Yahoo's overzealous anti-spam filter wouldn't let it through, and after dropping all the 'problematic' terms and still failing to post, I gave up and posted it here.
