Thanks to an offline friend who pimped it to me, I have been rabidly in love with The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. It is luverly.

On a whim I decided to see what the American voice acting was like today, since I've always just watched the subtitled Japanese version before. Here is my question: why does Wendee Lee seem to voice practically every anime heroine? Because I hate her High Perky Schoolgirl Voice to the very core of my being - it makes me twitch all the way down to the marrow of my bones - and hearing it come from Haruhi's mouth made me die a little inside.

(I don't really like High Perky Schoolgirl Voices, period. I can tolerate them in Japanese simply because I can't understand what they're saying anyway and I'm usually too busy reading the subtitles to pay close attention to the voices, so the beast that is my irritation slumbers.)
