More the conclusion than the actual wank, but... So, I'm going on me merry way, when someone has to ask Both the evolution theory and intellegent design have logic, evidence, and many supporters. Neither can be fully proven or disproven. So here's the question:
In your opinion, should they teach evolution solely, evolution and intellegent design, or none of the above?Which, of course, brings in inevitable "ID isn't science" vs. "but God has to be right". Nothing out of the ordinary until Finding physical evidence that proves the existence of God will never happen because He doesn't want us to trust Him because we know for a scientific fact that He exists, He wants us to trust Him because we know it in our hearts. That makes it tough to witness to unbelievers because so many want hard evidence when it completely goes against what faith is. Evidence in support of evolution is basically like creating one puzzle using pieces from several different puzzles: guessing this piece goes here, cutting that piece so it will fit, etc. Evolution is a belief, a theory, not a fact.
Proof [in god] would go against what God wants. It would defeat the purpose of faith. As a defense as to why ID is a valid scientific theory, mind you. Of course, it proves to much, and I dive in with *blink* So you agree that there's no proof, but it's logical to believe in it nonetheless?
faith =/= logicAnd then, of course, the OP has to join, with If that's how you see it, fine. We'll see who's really right come judgement day. The thing is, you will loose out big time, and that makes me sad. What follows is a rather puzzling debate, as I try to argue, but she keeps changing the subject and demanding logic that does not compute with earth logic, until I finally break down. If you want to continue this debate, you must first go here. (link to a basic explanation of logic and arguments) You will click on the little word "logic" in the side frame. You will learn what the word means. You will take the quiz until you get it right. Then, you will use what you have learned to argue with me in an intelligent manner. Do not post back without your quiz score. Then it hit me - why can't more communities have this be a requirement? "You cannot join unless you get a 75% on the test". Yes, there would still be jackass, but at least we would be able to understand what it is they're trying to argue without it making our brains hurt. | | Wednesday, November 17th, 2004 | | 1:41 pm |
