Well, life is good.

University is going well. I've got a job. I've not been sick for ages.

Clearly something HORRIBLE is going to happen shortly. I'll need to keep an eye out for magpies.

My eyes are all puffy.

I look like an upset, albino panda.

I blame my new make-up. I am sorta allergic to...the world!

Sorry, seriously I am allergic to some of the stuff used in make-up and soaps and perfumes and stuff. Or I used to be when I was a kid. I used to come out in a rash all over if I washed my hands using the soap in the public loos. I used to carry wipes around with me.

However, over the years it seemed to sorta...wear off. I still use unscented soaps and stuff but I've not broken out seriously in years. Except if I change my makeup.

Maybelline, for example, disagrees with my skin. The time I used it as my graduation my face broke out. Luckily after the pictures were taken. L'oreal eyeshadow also makes my eyes itch.

So too, apparently, does fake tan.

Damn it, people. Where is my bubble!

If Lieutenant-General Anthony Palmer's theories are correct then surely we should be keeping a close eye on HIM as a high suicide risk because that is one of the more offensive things I have ever heard.

"I'm sorry, Mrs Smith. I know your son killed himself and you've been agitating for someone to investigate it but it was because he was thick as day old pig shit. We know that cos only stupid people join the army. Off you go now."

Stupid, stupid man. Way to offend EVERYONE.

Apparently I have acne.

This is a difficult thing to accept since I am 28 and I assumed I was at least eight years out of the danger zone for acne. I never even got spots when I was a teenager, I had flawless skin. (Which sounds like bragging but isn't really. I had good skin but I was also overweight, wore heavy spectacles and was a giant geek.)

Still, the cream the dermatologist gave me is clearing it up nicely. It also gives me nice rosy cheeks.

----------------

I love Desperate Housewives but I hate Lynette. She's a twit.

I like poor geeky Zack too. He is so the nervous, borderline creepy kid that I would have mooned after. (rather than the neurotic, borderline gay kid that I did moon over. Ahh, for the days when you didn't realize being able to discuss writing a musical about the Greek muses with a guy probably means he's gay)

----------------

Still writing quite productively. I've been shortlisted for an award. I don't know if I'll win it but it would be nice if I did. I do think my writing has gotten better since I started the MA but it's hard to be optimistic when you're only getting NEGATIVE feedback from the writing group.

Yes, yes. It's very helpful and constructive and it genuintely has been helpful. However, it is hard to keep a positive feeling when you don't get any good feedback.

Maybe I should start writing fanfic again. I have a terrible yen for Mary Sues (which is bad and naughty and shouldn't be done!) but I would kinda like to write a nice Drusilla detective story. Or a Drusilla/X-Man crossover.

Speaking of Drusilla. Emily on Make me a Supermodel *so* looks like her. Well, technically looks like Juliet Landreau or whatever her name is. However, I only remember seeing Juliet in two roles. One of which was a genetic clone/fighting machine or something and the other was as the delightfully insane Dru.

So she will, until he stars in a more memorable role for me, be Dru.

Ha!
