I have had no brain today, people. It is ridiculous. My bosses are looking at me like, "Why did we hire you?" And I'm like, "I don't know. D:" I should call in dumb to work tomorrow. "Sorry, can't come in today. Too stupid. I need to stay home and watch basketball and Supernatural." I'm sure that'll go over well.
It doesn't help when what small capacity for intelligent thought I still possess is taken up with girl!Dean. *headdesk* Oh, god. Someone send help. I need this thing out of my head.

I do not understand the hate-on this entire fandom seems to have for... ovaries, as far as I can tell, and Ruby and Anna specifically.
WTH, misogynist much? Ruby and Anna are all right. Just because they're potential love interests who hang around for more than a single episode doesn't make them bad. Anyway, the more the boys get laid, the more we get to see them with their shirts off. Shirtless!Winchesters is never a bad thing. :D (Now, Bela, on the other hand--she can fuck right off. I've seen one episode with her, and I hate her already. But my hate has nothing to do with her girly-parts. She shot Sam! D: That's not cool, man.)
Also, I'm really listening to the Sam mix I made for the first time since I put it together. Goddamn, Sammy's a downer. XD Also also, I've decided that the Killers' Sam's Town is one of Sam's favorite albums, although he doesn't tell many people that for obvious reasons. Not even Dean. Especially not Dean. He'd never hear the end of it.
In non-Supernatural news, there's a new Torchwood book at Barnes & Noble. People. People. It is genderswitch. Honest to god, real canon genderswitch. Girl!Ianto genderswitch, no less. I nearly died of joy on the spot! I must own that book!

Finished watching season 2 of Supernatural.
There is nothing about this show that doesn't make me go, "Oh, Dean. T^T" Even when the storyline is Sam's. (Incidentally--John Winchester was a real bastard. Sam is just like him. No wonder they didn't get along.)
Need to work my way through season 3 now. Hopefully this time I can do it in more than two sittings. Give the stuff a little time to absorb, as it were. Heh. ^^;; A couple thoughts about the current season, though.
1. I'm not sure how much more they can put Sam and Dean through at this point and still have something left to work with next season. I'm not even sure how Dean is still a sane and functioning human, after all the Hell stuff. I can no-prize my way to an explanation that sort of makes sense (most of it involves Hell wanting its captives to be lucid enough to really appreciate what's happening to them, and Castiel wanting his favorite little soldier to be functional and healing more than just Dean's body. Although, if that's the case, Castiel did a piss-poor job). But, really. How much can one guy take?
2. I think I liked Dean better before he had Pain--when it was just the lower-case variety. Which is not to say I don't still love him! He is still my favorite woobie, and my new internet boyfriend. He is so pretty when he cries, but I think I've seen enough. He's even prettier when he's being glib, or an asshole, or hitting on everything with tits and a pulse.
3. I haven't posted the mixtape I put together yet, but I would just like to say that I had that thing done, like, three weeks ago. ![[info]](http://www.journalfen.net/img/userinfo.gif) nee_chan can vouch for me! The fact that Dean mentioned both Welcome to the Jungle and Cherry Pie in last week's episode is completely coincidental. My fst just got Jossed!

So I saw some pictures of Jensen Ackles from back when he was in Dark Angel. D: It was awful--he had horrible hair, and he was clean-shaven, and just... ew. And I'd just like to say,

In other news, I am awesome. How awesome am I? So awesome, I cannot even get into the shower in the morning without nearly breaking my own foot. D: Nothing broke, really, but goddamn did it hurt. And I have an impressive bruise on the top of my foot, and I spent the whole day limping around. Because I'm awesome. It's really very painful.
I promise someday soon I will have a post about something other than Supernatural and my own awesomeness. Possibly it will have something to do with being a bad friend, and never posting or commenting on anything except for when I'm navelgazing.

So I finished the first season of Stupidnatural, and I've been reading fic like I have nothing better to do with my life, and Dean Winchester has taken up residence in the back of my brain omg send hellllllllllllpppppppppppp. XD I even changed out a couple of my icons, which is just further evidence of my devotion to all things Dean Winchester, because it was a pain in the ass. I had to delete all 107 of my icons and start from scratch just to swap out the six icons I'm actually allowed to use.
It's ridiculous, the stuff I come up with.
Like. I understand why there's still only a tape deck in the Impala--Sam's lucky there's a tape deck at all, because that car is from 1967 and they didn't even really have cassette tapes back then, only John might've put the tape deck in (to replace the 8-track player that the previous owner had installed?) so that means it's okay by Dean. I mean, that car--you don't mess with perfection. You just don't, and you certainly don't douche it up with CD players and iPod docks and music that is so totally unworthy, college boy. :P I mean, I can picture Dean sitting in a crappy motel room with a cheap boom box, a stack of CDs from the library, and a bunch of blank cassettes, making mix tapes with titles like MUSIC TO PISS SAMMY OFF 2 or MUSIC SAMMY SHOULD APPRECIATE, only those all live in a shoebox under the driver's seat, so Sam won't find them easily (not that it matters that much since brainiac ditched him for college, of all things). (MUSIC TO PISS SAMMY OFF 1 is actually an old mix--Dean made it back when they were both still in school, and John would occasionally let him drive the Impala to school as long as he dropped Sammy off and picked him up. It's a carefully crafted mix of songs to make Sam die with embarrassment when Dean pulls up in front of the school with that music blaring and all the windows rolled down. Annoying, selfish little pricks get what they deserve when they tick off their way cooler older brothers.)
See what I mean? SEND HELP.

- We got our merit raises today. I use the term "raise" very loosely--I got 2.4%, which at my salary amounts to an extra $606.90 next year.
- Still, at least I have a job. I'm grateful for that, even if the pay is crap and I'm straining at the bit for a little goddamn responsibility.
- Still cold. Negative double digits can fuck right off. We're supposed to get 4-6 inches of snow tomorrow, and I am beside myself with excitement. EXCITEMENT, PEOPLE. That much snow means warmer temperatures. IF IT HITS THIRTY DEGREES NEXT WEEK I AM WEARING A SKIRT. \o/

- Have the unsettling feeling of having dodged a bullet. My employer laid off an unknown number of people yesterday--no one at my servicing center got laid off. Yay? When the bossman called us all into his office to make the announcement, the first thing he said was, "We all still have jobs, so you can start breathing again." Then he told us to be sensitive when dealing with people from other areas of the company, because we had no way of knowing who may have gotten the ax. Especially since we had no idea that this was coming. How rotten is that? Show up to work only to be told, sorry, you don't have a job anymore. Here's your severance package, see you around, suckers. D:
ETA: According to the email we got today, the ultimate plan is to eliminate 830 jobs by the end of 2009. That's 8% of our workforce. 80% of the layoffs happened yesterday, although that includes not just people being laid off but open positions being eliminated. That's why no one at my service center got laid off--even though a number of people have quit, we've hired exactly two new people since summer. I am one of them. I hope that bullet does not swing around and get me later this year. *fret*
- It is really fucking cold out right now. I want to hibernate until spring.
- I admit it. I've caved. I've started watching Supernatural. Like, for real and stuff! I watched a few episodes from this season and they were pretty good, but then my mom got the seasons 1 and 2 box sets for Christmas. I picked up season 1 on Saturday. I'm starting disc 4 today. Ahahaha. XD This show is awesome and fun! Why did no one tell me?
- Also, Dean Winchester is my new favorite woobie. I mean, I always thought he was hot--Jensen Ackles is a very, very pretty man. His facial structure is just gorgeous, and his body is smokin'. I could look at him all day. And he should not be allowed to wear a shirt. Ever. But Dean! Oh, you guys. I love him so much! He is such an older sibling; I love the way he bosses Sam around, and looks out for him, and worries over him. It is so cute I could die! I am filled with squee!
- Also also, Dean has a totally sweet ride and great taste in music. I would hit that like the fist of an angry god.
- I'm sure at this point I could try to come up with a few non-Supernatural-related bullet points, but. Um. I want to squeeze in a couple more episodes of Supernatural before I go to bed tonight. Yes, that's right--I'm ditching you guys in favor of Dean Winchester. Priorities, people!

So, I'm about to download the first episode of the Antique Bakery anime, about which I am so excited omg! I go to Megaupload and the letters it tells me to enter into the box? Are S, Q, and E. Megaupload is squeeing with me! XD
In other news, still sick. D: But after two pretty good nights' sleep, I'm feeling slightly more human. This is a straight-up head cold--congestion, headaches, sinus pain (which sucks! My face hurts, you guys. I've never had a cold like this before!). Then I take a Sudafed and the congestion and pain go away, and my nose starts draining. I think I will go hang with my peeps tonight, but I will be well armed with pills and tissues.

Anyway. This is a very nifty fandom fundraising auction in support of equal marriage rights in California. In case you haven't been following the news, right now it is legal in California for same-sex couples to marry. There will be a bill on the ballot in California in November that if passed will destroy all the marriages currently taking place in California between same-sex couples.
I think this is both wrong and absurd. And I like to see fandom gettin' out there and making a difference in the real world. So pimp this auction! I think it'll be awesome. :D

I'm gainfully employed! \o/ It's not what I want to be doing, but it's decent starting pay, and it's something to do while I search for a job I really want. So, that's good.
omg, you guys! Pink Martini! Why did no one tell me! This band is awesome! Actually, to be fair, I think Dense might've mentioned them and their awesomeness at some point in her eljay. But still! More, please. :D Also, have *ahemed* a copy of Coldplay's new album--it might even be good enough to merit a re-listen, which means I'll probably buy it at some point. I still love the title track best. (And not just because it makes me think of Doctor Who.) Also also, Coldplay is still a bunch of U2 wannabes. I'll let it slide--there are far worse bands to emulate.
I can't believe Wizard World is next weekend already! So excited! Can't wait! This almost makes up for missing Acen this year! Also, I am a cruel, cruel slave driver for making my friends get on the road by 8:30 am. I am also completely unapologetic. Do you guys want wake-up calls? Because I can do that. =D
