Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Yes, I have noticed the wiki is wacky.
Woe... on the upside, this means no spambots to ban for a little while. Yay?

In an attempt to justify the space taken up by this post:
I like the new JF code quite a bit, but I've noticed there's an extra / on the end of communities sometimes. So, for example, if I click on a poster's username on my friendslist, I go to their journal. However, for fandom_wank, I see www.journalfen.net/users/fandom_wank in the browser's status bar. If I click on it, it tries to take me to www.journalfen.net/community/fandom_wank// (the same thing happens if I am logged in as a community and click on "Recent" in the navigation bar, which is how I first noticed this).

I've found the same problem with links in memories. Memories from individual user's journals take me to the correct post; memories from communities add an extra slash in before the post number.

I think the extra slash is added during the redirect from www.journalfen.net/users/[community name] (and www.journalfen.net/~[community name]) to www.journalfen.net/community/[community name], because the same thing happens if I type the "users" (and ~) version of the community name directly into my browser.

It's easy enough to work around, of course, but it's a bit odd. I might possibly have panicked the first time-- OMG! What do you mean the post doesn't exist???

I reported that particular problem to Paid Support, and Robin thanked me for the update and said they'll get on it as soon as they can.

As for the wiki, oh well. My home ISP is also down and for a moment I wondered if everything on the internet had died. :/

Ah, good.

Have you mentioned the IP address issue? (Everything is showing up as "from [IP], via 127.0.0.1") I already feel bad enough about reporting the horror of my unavailable icons (so distressing!), and I don't want to bother them if I know an issue has already been reported.

I've just spent the last few minutes looking through at the newly visible community maintainers lists, which I'll try to incorporate into the wiki when it's available again. Also, I need to remember to change references from flutterg to soy_latte.

Does comment tracking work for you? It's not working for me at all. I've checked and double-checked, but alas.

It might be because not all of the normal comments are being emailed out properly though... Comment notification is being dodgy even with normal entry / comment replies at the moment.

Thanks -- that makes sense! Although comments aren't even showing up in my JF inbox, much less my email.

Must ... be ... patient ....

... It could also be that it's in beta stage like InsaneJournal and hasn't been fully implemented yet. ^_^;;

But I'd wait for normal comment tracking type things to work properly first before the tracking... D:

Thanks again ... I was worried that it was a bug specific to my JF!

I noticed the problems with the memories when I was looking for a particular wank to add to the wiki.

I remember the slashes increase problem from a fantasy rpg board I used to playon. It was some weird CGI reloading issue.
