| 4:39 pm | That list is likely to expand So I guess if I'm actually gonna post in this thing, I might as well introduce myself. Hallo! I'm wonderfish. I talk too much. If you are here, you have probably followed one of my occasional comments on f_w or a spinoff thereof. Since I have attempted to ban myself from being terribly silly in other places, I am probably going to be terribly silly here. The following things are likely to inspire nerdrage: - old-timey Lucasarts adventure games - Marvel comics characters from the 90s, most recently Shatterstar - Booster Gold - Blue Beetle (any of them! Except possibly pre-Charlton Dan Garret) - Urusei Yatsura (the Glaswegian lo-fi band, not the anime/manga) - oversimplified gender/sexuality binaries - people going "hurf durf Welsh has no vowels" (and orthography of Celtic languages in general) - Wales, period, apparently - dinosaurs - the French government's position on minority languages - the Oxford goddamn Comma - Fabian Nicieza Come in, make yourself at home. | 6:47 pm | Visa approved. Plans are all more or less made now, although I still have to figure out what is up with my loan. I probably don't really need it, though, so if it doesn't work I'll live. Monday I leave town. Holy shit, then. Apparently I am going to celebrate this not by preparing to leave town or anything, but by scrubbing the kitchen floor! And after that I may draw some fictional men kissing. Because really, if I'm going to practice my drawing, I might as well produce something I can show off on the internet to a pre-existing appreciative audience. I could always use some random internet love. E: Just kidding, gonna read this comic in Irish instead. Of course. |

| 10:38 pm | My Arabic teacher didn't come to class today. We are all terribly worried. (Not least because that was our second to last class and none of us is really sure what the final project is supposed to be, I know. But I really like him. Man loves him some linguistics. I have to respect anyone who can work Middle Welsh into their dissertation on Persian morality tales.) So Harry, wherever you are, I hope you're okay and just had one PBR too many to get out of bed before three. Is there any such thing as a figure reference website that isn't an excuse to post lots of pictures of women you find attractive? I suppose it's equally plausible they just don't understand why someone would want to draw any other sort of woman. |

| 1:56 am | meep So my student visa application is in the mail. (Along with my passport. Eep.) I want it to come back nooooow I can't believe this is really happening. It is so very unlike me to do something that's actually interesting and which involves aiming higher than the lowest possible. I don't think I'm prepared at all. And the official Lucasarts twitter is defending Telltale and telling people to buy Loom and talking about how wonderful adventure games are! And everybody is talking about Shatterstar! Basically I am eagerly awaiting either the end of the world or the return of parachute pants. |

| 10:21 am | Hah! My account has been deleted off the Liefeld forums! I had it a few days, before the whole thing really exploded in the relatively public eye, never posted. PM'ed my pal red; part of the whole brouhaha was fed by his quoting me from somewhere else (without mentioning it to me), and I wanted to rib him a bit about that. (Possibly I should have been a bit more disgusted, but oh well.) Maybe that was a red flag, if admins can see that, or maybe they've just been deleting all lurker accounts these days. The Liefeld forums are notorious for the quick trigger finger, and I'm sure there are plenty of people going over there to hassle him now. This is the closest I've ever gotten to a proper kerfluffle, I'm kind of excited! ETA: Okay, now I'm just terribly embarrassed. |
