Last entry was over a year ago. Was going to move Blaise in Space here. Yeah.

*facepalms*

Hello.

3:21 pm - Not dead.
I plan on moving Blaise in Space over here. Been planning that since all the hoo-hah started up on lj. Still haven't gotten around to it. :(

All week I've been going to be picturing what I want to write next. Blaise and Miko. At night, I go to bed picturing them going at it up against the wall in Miko's quarters, but I still haven't figured out how to get it down in words. Dammit.

I had hoped going back to work would help with the writing thing, but so far it's been a bust. We'll see.

Also, no new fannish inspirations. Watching more stuff now, but I have no Eureka ideas. Or Prison Break. Or X-Files. Though if you've got recs, I'm all ears.

Oh, woe. Lj is down. Hm. Guess I'll watch tv and knit sooner rather than later.

Wow. Last entry was May 2006.

Things to do. Things to do. Instead... I'm dawdling.

Hm. I could summarize the past year... but. Nah.

How about summarizing my last lj entry?

Training starts Monday. Flying out to Dallas on Sunday. I actually go to *work* tomorrow - just shadowing and doing the paperwork thing.

Too much to do. Definitely shouldn't be fussing with lj.

Yeah. I'm an idiot.

And I need new icons.

7:52 pm - Bangor, Maine

No afternoon or late evening flights from here to KC, alas. Finished work at three; last flight out was at four. Damn.

Don't ask about work today.

Flight tomorrow at 6:35. Ick.

I'm forgetting something. I can feel it. Wish I could remember.

9:42 pm - Bangor, ME

Had one of those days today.

One advantage of a room with two double beds instead of just one king? More pillows.

LL Bean factory store during lunch break. Got me a formerly $80 sweater for $25. Karita, you're gonna hate it. ;)

Dinner at Smokey Bones. First time I've been to one since Columbus. The Moron and I ate there all the damn time. Really good food. I'm all full now.

Still really haven't seen Maine. Drove to and from Ellsworth in the dark. :( Maybe tomorrow.

Probably won't get home until Wednesday, given the flight schedules out of here. Whatever. I do get to sleep in tomorrow. Not that I really will.

7:26 pm - Ellsworth, Maine

Wasn't "State O' Maine" the bear's name in The Hotel New Hampshire?

I haven't read any John Irving in a good long while.

Work was work. Tedious mostly. Some of it was proper work involving lifting and carrying and installing heavy things.

Gotta be back in the morning at 7:30am. Erk.

Turns out there's a Holiday Inn in the adjacent parking lot. Yeah, that's where I am tonight. Just had a bad experience in the hotel's restaurant. Sat there for *10* minutes and was never helped. Um. No. I left. Reported the incident (or lack thereof) to the desk clerk. Now I get room service without the surcharge. And a free breakfast. :) Bonus. Still.. I really rather would have had things go right in the dining room.

Oh well.

Found out there's an LL Bean outlet in this town. I'm hoping to have time to shop. Also hoping for enough downtime for a proper pilgrimage to Freeport. Because I'm a dork that way.

Meh.

I'd never been to Maine before. Given that it was nearly 11pm before I got on the road, I really don't have an opinion, as I haven't seen anything yet!

Oh, so tired.

Work was fine. Security at BWI sucked, as per usual.

Making progress on reading the DaVinci Code. I like the story well enough, but I hate the way it's being told. Mr Exposition needs to give it a rest.

Dunno what else. Need to do the briefest bit of work then bed. Definitely bed.

11:00 pm - King George, Virginia

Working tomorrow in Mechanicsville, Maryland. There are no hotels to be had there. Okay, maybe "JoeBob's Motor Court", but I'm really not up for that tonight.

I had One of Those Days.

Managed to score a suite last night. Cool. Right up until I managed to lock myself out of the bedroom... while mostly naked. Yes, all my clothes were in the bedroom. *facepalms*

Brainfarted on stuff all day long at work... one thing resulted in the site having to call the help desk, the help desk calling me, and my having to go back (thankfully was at the airport trading out the rental car), discovering what I hadn't done and then spending a half hour making sure that was what happened *facepalms again*

Discovered upon checking in at my hotel that I had not turned in the keys to my rental car. *one more facepalm*

Got to my room... no kings, alas. Two double beds. One is turned down, the other not. It doesn't register. I go use the bathroom. The toilet seat is up. No big deal, I see that all the time. Go to wash my hands, notice the big splatter on the mirror. Um. Hm. Back out in the room, the difference in the beds registers. The turned down bed looks okay. I pull back the covers on the not turned down bed.... OW EW EW EW. Not to mention EW. *shudders at the memory* ...back to the front desk to get a different room.

All that's available for dinner is Dominos. But the delivery chick was cute, so that worked out.

I should mention something about how weird it was driving in Chesapeake and Portsmouth yesterday... shit kept blending together... I was getting Pensacola and Hampton Roads confused. Really hard to describe.

Matters not now. I'm not there.

Quick-ish job tomorrow. Then driving up to Baltimore and flying out to Bangor. :)

9:04 pm - Newport News, Viriginia

Entry strictly for the sake of keeping track of where I was when.

Work went okay today. Not a clearcut problem. I hope I fixed it for good.

Got to see Julia today. And J.C. as well, naturally.

Who's Julia and J.C.? Julia was my first ever girlfriend. J.C. was her boyfriend at the time, her husband now. J.C. was, and probably still is, highly possessive. We very rarely had any time with just the two of us, but well... that was okay.

Anyhow. I hadn't seen them since I left Virginia (show of hands - who didn't know I'd ever lived in Virginia?). Something like 12 or 13 years ago. We've emailed sporadically, but that's about it. Between his, hers, and theirs.... they have *six* kids. Yikes. They just opened up a little organic/vegan/kosher grocery shop in downtown Portsmouth.

It's weird getting in touch with bits of your past. I think I'm both quite different and nearly the same as I was when they were part of my everyday life.

Whatever, right?

12:57 am - Chesapeake, Virginia

I guess I should probably ask tomorrow to make sure I'm still on for Bangor on Sunday. I'm sure I am... just means at least one more flight this week. No sweat. Just as long as I get the chance to sleep at some point.

Checked into my hotel at 1am. My alarm went off this morning at 4:30 after shutting off the light at 12:30. Yeah, I'm tired. But not quite sleepy yet. Soon. Very soon.

Day went well enough. Nice pharmacist at today's site. Got 'em fixed without any hitches for once. Tomorrow might not go so smoothly. Oh well.

I was going to take pics here and there today... but the batteries in my camera died. It takes plain ol' double A. If I were smart, I would have stopped at the wally world adjacent to my motel before checking in. But I'm just not that smart.

10:45 pm - Fairhaven, Mass

Thought about posting pics each day in lieu of droning on about nothing on my lj. Had I taken pics at the Charlotte airport (as I thought about while I was there), that would work today, alas, no. Pics of my hotel room didn't work either. So. Just this hear.

My week starts with a bang and a 14 hour day. Rah.

I'm tired and can't believe I'm still up. I have to set the alarm for 4am. Blergh and a half, dude.

Easier to believe because I checked in less than an hour ago...

(and I think I'm seeing why Rodney came with an extra keyboard... this one, the nifty one that's also a cover and is just like Dr Weir's on SGA, has issues on the bottom row. :( )

Anything else? Not really.

Working in Wareham tomorrow... I'll be in Bangor, Maine on Sunday. I'm pretty excited about that.

Okay. Giving up on getting the work laptop dialed in. Dammit.

G'night.

Whoa.

I did actually manage to completely forget about this journal.

Of what use it may be, I don't know.

But whoa, I can have 1000 icons? Geeze.

I should be sleeping. But I'm all twitchy. Too much caffeine. Oops.

grrrr...

So I'll just have to blather here.

I'm going to be in Sacramento this weekend. I've not been there before. I think.

And now. Off to bed.

So, yeah.

Been not quite two and a half months since the last update here. Last post was from Columbus.

Now I've got a new home, new job, new life. I got back today from my first solo trip on the job. It went... um... okay. Not bad, but not particularly good. I look forward to it getting better. And it will. Over time.

The writing's not going so well. Not surprising, really. But still disappointing for me. The stuff currently going on in my head story-wise is obscure/small fandom stuff. January Man and Ocean's 11 (might have to go see O12 before my next rotation).

I'm wanting to either revive the Donald Sutherland pup or find a new one... not for any heavy duty stuff, but just weekly type stuff. Dunno.

Guess that's it for the moment. I'm falling asleep here.

3:22 am - crossposted from my lj.
Update.

The last one for an unknown length of time. My brother will be here inside eight hours. We'll be loading the truck today (Friday). Pulling out bright and early Saturday morning.

My net access is going to be... sketchy at best, non-existent at worst, for an unknown length of time.

I'm still planning on getting my onehundredone story done and submitted, come hell or high water. Starbucks has a wifi hot spot within a mile of where I'll be. So do know that at the very least, I'll be online on the 20th, my posting day for the comm.

Six hours left of internet.... and I have to sleep some time too.

On the bright side.... shiny new life beginning!

Well.

So much for updating more regularly. bleah.

I'm sure there was a point to an extra journal. Be damned if I can remember what it was.

It's that lovely time of the month when I question the point of every single creative activity of mine. It got rolling really well before I realized today. So. Wish I felt more creative anyhow.

I have one deadline to deal with fic-wise. Middle July. But I really should get it out of the way now. Part of a nifty two-part remix fest of sorts. And somehow, through the luck of the draw I suppose, I got stuck with incest on both segments. The easiest way to deal with a minimum 1000 word fic I need to do... will be... *sigh*... hurt/comfort, pwp, twincest. Save me.

I should post my latest Smallville drabble. Cows/Jonathan. Later.

Lots of things I *should* do.

None of 'em will be done.

I ought to use this more. But I really haven't had anything to say. Don't want to make this a copy of my regular lj. Not that there's much going on there either.

Up side of the night. Quiet. Scary quiet almost.

Down side... boredom due to crap attention span.

Ally, I'd love to do a late entry for drabble day, but I'm without inspiration. If you, or anyone else for that matter, cares to toss a pairing/scenario at me, I'll give it my best shot. Sorry Fishie, I'm still struggling with the boyz in armor thing.

Back to work.
